Samantha Jackson grew up in a small town near Charlotte. She attended UNCW for her undergraduate degree and knew that she would return to Wilmington. During the summers when she attended law school at UNC-Chapel Hill, she interned at firms in Charlotte including James, McElroy & Diel and Pinnacle Law, where she gained experience in family law, criminal law, estate planning, and other areas of the law. She also interned at our firm in the family law section and came to work as an associate attorney when she graduated from UNC School of Law.

Samantha now focuses primarily on family law matters, including cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence. Samantha has a special interest in cases impacted by domestic violence. She completed an externship with the Office of the Federal Public Defender and participated in UNC’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Clinic. She has insight acquired through the Trauma Informed Lawyering clinic. The legal process can be an overwhelming and scary experience. Samantha works with clients to help them understand the legal process and to explain their settlement and litigation options. If court is the best option, she helps her clients feel prepared and empowered when they go to court with her as the attorney.

Before becoming an attorney, Samantha enjoyed acting and has won awards for acting including Best Actress in North Carolina from the North Carolina Theatre Conference. When she is not working, Samantha enjoys hiking with her husband.
